Nahshon Nicks was born in Syracuse, New York and migrated with family to Jacksonville, Fl in 1991.  After struggling in academics in Elementary School, Nahshon received a grade A education at Merrill Rd. Elementary School.
He attended Charlton County High School in Folkston, GA where he wrestled, ran track, and played on the 1999 Class A Football Championship Team. Nahshon graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Education from Edward Waters College in 2006 as Senior Class President.  While in college he also served on ShadCo (Sheriff Advisory Council) in the Mike Sector of Jacksonville. Nahshon is currently on the Board of Directors for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid where he serves on the Strategic Planning and Community Initiatives committees.
He also earned his Master's of Leadership and Management degree from Strayer University in 2014.

Nahshon has a Bachelor's of Theology degree from Thomas Brown Bible College in association with Church of Christ Written In Heaven in 2007. He was licensed as a minister in 2003 by House of God Saints in Christ, where he served 5 years as youth pastor at Jerusalem Holiness Church in Folkston, Ga. As a minister, he has spearheaded and facilitated numerous workshops, seminars, and community outreach events. Nahshon has since went on  to receive his Doctor of Divinity from Saint Thomas Christian University. He currently serves as the Millinex-Z Pastor at Mount Sinai Baptist Church.  

Nahshon is  committed to being a Public Servant, self activated, tenacious and tactical. His professional career spans a decade of excellence in post-secondary education as an Admissions Counselor, Assistant Director of Admissions, Admissions Manager,  & Campus President for a local university in Jacksonville, Fl. He has been acknowledged for numerous awards for talent recruitment, student retention, collections, attrition, & overall campus performance. He has sat on numerous panels and forums as a speaker for Stop the Gun Violence, Crime Prevention and Intervention with the FBI, & Crime Watch Forums.
He has been featured on News4Jax, Fox 30, & CBS 47 for his work and vision to see improvement in our high crime communities.

Nahshon continues to remain active in working with our inner city youth as a martial arts instructor, mentor, and guest speaker for Duval county Public Schools.
He continues to minister every Sunday in Jacksonville’s Washington Heights Apartments serving Breakfast and Bible. In addition, Nahshon hosts Economic and Empowerment Job Fairs, Career Fairs, and Health Fairs in some of Jacksonville’s underserved communities, working with corporations to secure employment for people of color. Nahshon currently serves as the Program Director (CREDI) at The First Coast Leadership Foundation. 

Nahshon has a passion and purpose driven mission to ignite and strengthen the community. Nahshon will continue to be a guiding light of hope and be a integral part of creating sustainable solutions for all.
